Martha has been helping people to improve their financial well-being for 15 years. She was a financial adviser for a short time before realising she would rather work on financial education and money coaching. Since then she’s facilitated hundreds of workshops and helped thousands of people think more clearly about their finances. She’s also run campaigns promoting free advice services and affordable credit.

She generally makes decent decisions about her long term finances, but has to work hard to resist impulse shopping.

Wardour Studios was founded in 2012 by David Smith, and is a boutique podcast production company and recording studio based in central London. The team specialises in speech production, and records podcasts, commercial voiceovers, radio programmes and audio books. Clients include The Orion Publishing Group, the BBC, The Guardian, the NHS and Penguin Random House.

Alex co-hosted the first three series of Squanderlust. She started out as a journalist, then became a chartered accountant – but stopped that six days after qualifying. She loved numbers as much as words, but she didn’t love the finance industry.

Since leaving finance in 2011, Alex has worked freelance in research and content for web services, digital policy, marketing, data visualization and non-fiction books. She really cares about understanding what people need and want and do, and why, and using that knowledge to create change for the better.

Alex is pretty good at managing her money, but very good at worrying about it far more than is helpful.
